MoU Udayana University With SDC
Located in the Computing and Multimedia Laboratory of the Agribusiness Study Program of the Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University, System Dynamics Training in philosophy, theory, and application (practice and case studies). Training materials include: System Dynamics and Spatial Dynamic. The training opened by the Dean of the Agriculture Faculty of Udayana University, was a follow-up to the collaboration based on the MoU between Udayana University, which was signed by the Rector of Udayana University (Prof. Dr. Dr. AA Raka Sudewi, Sp., S (K)) and the Head of System Dynamics Center Dr. Irman Firmansyah in research, training, data centers, and software licenses. This collaboration aims to jointly meet the needs of students, lecturers, researchers, and practitioners in supporting research on System Dynamics. The training began with the signing of the technical implementation of the collaboration between the Agribusiness Study Program Coordinator and the System Dynamics Center (SDC).
Head of SDC, expressed his gratitude and pride in being able to establish cooperation with Udayana University, and conveyed this collaboration was not only limited to laboratories, but also developed several programs that already existed at SDC, such as: One Portal Repository for System Dynamics Research (one website for a collection of research results on system dynamics) and collaborative programs in research, training, data centers and software licenses. It was further conveyed, that the development of the last few years where the need for deepening understanding and practice of the System Dynamics was very high and rapid with the distribution of participants that was almost evenly distributed from various regions in Indonesia. With this collaboration, the training can be directly organized by the Agribusiness Study Program laboratory at the Udayana University Campus in Denpasar, making it easier for system dynamics researcher in Bali and Eastern Indonesia. It is hoped that the role of this laboratory will also facilitate the practice of postgraduate students data analysis and accelerate their graduation, especially for research with system dynamics. Furthermore, this laboratory can be developed continuously with related applications so that the system dynamics deepening for mapping visualization with spatial dynamics, the simulation results are more communicative to see land use and the spread of various things in the future.

I Nyoman Rai, MS., In his opening remarks the training revealed “universities, including the Faculty of Agriculture of Udayana University must always open their eyes to technology or analytical methods that continue to develop, this collaboration in laboratory optimization is the first step in improving the quality of our research in the field of system dynamics and other decision support system analyzes. On this occasion I also want to open up a perspective on system dynamics which so far might be considered a difficult method of analysis. System dynamics is actually a method of analysis that is quite flexible and can be applied to various fields, not just certain fields. I hope that the trainees will also be able to dismiss thoughts that consider a system dynamics a heavy analysis, in fact those assumptions arise because of a limited understanding of the system dynamics. Hopefully this collaboration between Udayana University and the System Dynamics Center can help us all to better understand the system and dynamic models”.
The training from 22-28 February 2019 was attended by 24 participants consisting of Postgraduate Students, Lecturers, Researchers, and Practitioners, each from: Udayana University, Undiksha (Singaraja), UNHI (Denpasar), BPTP ( Bali), Research and Development (Bappeda Bangli Regency), UI (Jakarta), Trisakti University (Jakarta), Jakarta Arts Council, Gadjah Mada University (Yogyakarta), State Polytechnic (Jember), Trunojoyo University (Madura), University of North Sumatra (Medan), and Agricultural Research and Development (Maros-Sulsel).
